Unlike rainwater collection systems or dry creek beds – both of which I love to install, these drainage systems are specifically designed to move water away from the house or building as fast as possible.

I do not like installing these types of systems for the mere fact that I like to capture water and let it slowly percolate through the landscape utilizing as much rain water as possible before it exits into the streets.

However with all of our hills and the way homes are constructed there are no other options sometimes.

On our underground drainage systems we use 12″ collection boxes that connect to 6″ perforated tubing with 12″ boxes installed every fifty feet. These boxes help us clean any debris that may be built up in the tubing.
